Since opening our doors 33 years ago, Lincoln Park Community Services has changed from a place for people in need of a hot meal and a place to sleep to a comprehensive social service agency with programs that address the challenges of homelessness at every point in the housing continuum. With the support of our many volunteers and community partners, LPCS is able to serve more than 400 individuals each year. Thank you to all of our supporters for helping us empower individuals to make and sustain life changes!
Volunteers are the life line of our organization and we couldn’t serve the nearly 450 individuals a year that we do, without our network of over 2,000 volunteers. There is a volunteer at LPCS in some capacity 24 hours, 7 days a week! There are lots of different ways to get involved with LPCS, so there is an opportunity for everyone.
To get started, please fill out our application form, and attend a volunteer orientation. Upcoming orientation dates are listed below. For more information on individual, group, and corporate volunteer opportunities, contact Jen Kouba, Associate Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement, at 773.549.6111 x216 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Opportunities include, but are not limited to:

• Overnight Supervision
• Teaching a class or activity
• Preparing and a serving a meal
• Work on one-on-one with a Guest

Cooking Meals at LPCS
We encourage a healthy variety of meals for the Guests at Lincoln Park Community Services. For every meal opportunity at LPCS, volunteers are responsible for planning a meal, purchasing ingredients and preparing the food, either at home or in the LPCS kitchen. We have a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary cookware and service ware.
To volunteer to prepare a meal and for more details, including Guest dietary restrictions, email email@example.com.
Sunday breakfast volunteers arrive at 7:30 a.m. and serve an hour later. Breakfast volunteers serving Monday through Firday arrive at 6:30 a.m. and serve at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast is served buffet style from the tabe in front of the mural wall in the dining room. Plan to serve approximately 20-25 Guests. The average cost is $50-$75 (3-5 volunteers)
We have an ongoing Saturday Hot Lunch opportunity, but groups can also contact us to sign up for weekday hot lunches. Volunteers arrive around noon to serve around 1-1:15 p.m. Lunch can be served plated or buffet based on preference. Plan to serve about 25 Guests. The average cost is $75-$125. (5-7 volunteers)
Sack Lunches are provided for guests who leave LPCS during the day for work, school, or important appointments. This is a great opportunity for kids of all ages to give back to their community. Sack lunch volunteers prepare 30 bagged lunches off site and drop them off at LPCS by 8 p.m. on the date they signed up for. Sack Lunches usually include a sandwich/wrap and things like fruit, chips/crackers, cheese, granola bars, trail mix, an optional dessert, and a beverage. The average cost is $50-$75.
Dinner is served 7 nights a week with volunteer groups preparing a delicious and healthy meal for 40 individuals. Dinner volunteers arrive at 6 p.m. and serve at 7:30 p.m. The average cost is $150. Cooking dinner is the most popular volunteer opportunity at LPCS so we encourage signing up 6-8 weeks in advance.

We know cooking for a large group of people can seem overwhelming so we have created a Pinterest page full of different recipe ideas that volunteers and LPCS Guests have given two thumbs up to.
